In this fourth modern day landscape work, I have experimented with painting the scene in highly bright and vibrant colours. The thinking behind this was the attraction repulsion idea, I wanted to make the piece undeniably eye catching so that people wouldn’t miss it and would be exposed to the environmental harm going on and realise how bad it is rather than ignoring it.
Also, I wonder if people viewing this painting may think that this is a really attractive bright landscape and be really drawn to it until they realise that it is full of the negative affects that human living is having on the land. This painting also encompasses pollutants, litter, waste oil and crude oil.
